The history of the "OLIMP" Travel Agency in Lublin dates back to the times of the ancient Romans ..., to be precise, to 1992. The legendary founder of the office was Józef Mrozowicz. The beginnings of the office were mainly related to the organization of trips and rest in Greece and Italy. Olympus 2,918 m a.s.l., the highest mountain in Greece, the mythological seat of the Olympic gods and the Olympic Riviera located at its feet, popular then and now the holiday base of Polish people in sunny Hellas, inspired the founder to name the office. His love of Greek mythology and philosophy also influenced the choice of the company's logo. It houses the winged horse Pegasus. According to mythology, the Aganippe spring dedicated to the muses emerged from the impact of his hoof. Pegasus as the best steed ended up in the stable of Zeus on Olympus, and then it rested in the sky as a constellation. Since then, Pegasus has been a symbol of the inspiration of poets and painters, but also of the pursuit of freedom and dreams.
It just so happens that Mount Olympus is located in the territory of historic Macedonia, the country where Alexander of Macedon was born, an outstanding leader and visionary. "Fortune favors the brave", according to this maxim, Alexander managed to reach India, paving the way for Greek civilization. Several centuries later, the Apostle of the Nations, St. Paul, bringing the words of the Gospel. To the Greeks in the Areopagus, he said that they worshiped an "unknown God". The missionary paths of the Apostles, from the Holy Land, through Syria, Anatolia, the Caucasus, Cyprus and Crete, Greece, the Balkans and Malta, led all the way to Italy and Spain, marking the land and sea routes of our contemporary pilgrimages.
The 90s were a time of Polish travels around Europe full of sacrifices. The pontificate of John Paul II was filled with pride, provided many emotions and emotions, and, above all, inspired to visit the Holy Father in Rome. His admiration for nature, mountain hikes and numerous travels around the world made him an unmatched model of the Pope Pilgrim. The canonization of John Paul II in 2014 opened new routes, this time following the footsteps of the Holy Polish Pope. Jubilee Year 2000, the Year of St. Paul the Apostle, then the Year for Priests, presenting the figure of St. John Vianney, the Year of Faith, the Year of Mercy - we have traveled together all these years. Our programs often include and are still close to the Marian routes: Lourdes, Fatima, La Salette, Medugorje, Montserrat, Zaragoza, Guadalupe, Aparecida and thousands of others.
The year 2020 opens another chapter in the history of the OLIMP Travel Agency. With the same composition, although in a slightly different version. So ..., we want to continue our journey, to fulfill both our visions and the desires of our loyal customers. We are motivated by the curiosity of the world. Willingness to confront our knowledge with reality gives wings to our plans, longing for friends scattered around the world accelerates the date of departure. Always with a smile and a bit of fantasy, we set off on the trail. The world seems small, but there is so much to discover in it.
